My internship period at marketing agency Marvelous Media & Communications

My internship period at marketing agency Marvelous Media & Communications

Imagine this happening to you… In the third year of your studies, you have to complete a five-month internship at a marketing agency, and you spontaneously decide you want to do it abroad. Preferably at a marketing agency in Curaçao, because honestly, who wouldn’t want that? On a whim, you email several marketing agencies to ask whether they are looking for an intern, including Marvelous Media & Communications. And wouldn’t you know it: the evening before Marlous received my email in her inbox, she had thought to herself: I could really use an intern for my marketing agency again. All in all, we scheduled a meeting, and forty-five minutes later Marlous had a new intern and I had an amazing marketing agency for my internship.

On September 1st, the adventure began. Full of enthusiasm and curiosity, I started my internship at Marvelous. Looking back on the past few months, I can only say that I have learned an incredible amount at this marketing agency. During my internship, I mainly worked on social media, copywriting and branding. What I enjoy about working at a marketing agency is the variety. Because you work for different clients, all with different goals and target audiences, working at a marketing agency is never boring. This marketing agency has truly shown me how much fun the field I am studying for can be. Marlous gave me the opportunity to do things that genuinely interested me, and together we were able to launch and complete some really great projects. It was an amazing time!

And for everyone who is hesitating about doing an internship on Curacao: do it! You will experience the best things and enjoy every moment. You will learn a lot during your internship and gain new personal insights as well. Being away from home for a longer period truly teaches you to stand on your own two feet, and that will help you tremendously in the future.

For now, I would like to thank Marlous very much for the past few months, and I will certainly miss my time here on the island. See you soon Curacao!
